I did several pieces of Ice Cube Music before. This my favorite : It is based on a traditional Javanese Gamelan composition called "Serayu" that I learned long ago when they started teaching gamelan in Paris. Most sounds here are ice cubes in a glass (the resonator), but there are two real instruments : the gong that marks the end of each cycle is one of the Burmese gongs I purchased in Mandalay. The bass playing the core melody (balungan) is performed on a Slenthem originally tuned in Slendro but digitally retuned to Pelog to match the piece. The introduction is a mic chilling in my freezer.

Note : I call this "ice cube sound" to make it short, but it is "the sound of an cube resonating in a glass with its pitch affected by the quantity and movement of liquid".
