about

This could be the first CONCRETE HARDCORE song ever (started in may 2009) ! Most concrete sounds used here are insects but there is some wild hardcore guitar as well (recorded live at home). The sliding bass line which more or less match the guitar is entirely made from extremely slow down insect sound. It took long to calculate how many milliseconds (actually often less) of japanese cricket sound are required to produce each bass note (which slides into the next).
The whole end, a rupak (indian 7 beats) variation of the first break, is pure insect sound except for a few drum samples and one frog. And is this insect melody not touching ? - 1st TRACK OF "REINFORCED CONCRETE CRACKS" EP, a preview of both albums ELECTRIC FROGGLAND 1 & 2

ALBUM LINER NOTES :

Sound theme : Insects
Style : Hardcore punk
Concrete instruments : various crickets, cicadas, grasshoppers and locusts
Real/regular instruments : guitar (one take)
Other sounds : gecko, brake squeal, mosquito, helicopter...
Years : May 2009 - Dec 2011

This type of hardcore riff sounds finnish to me.

The bassline of this track was entirely made with the sound of a cricket recorded in square in Tokyo. It matches the guitar part and took three weeks to caculate and edit.

The central break features a field of grasshopper invasion in a hotel In Bhamo, Kachin State, North of Myanmar. They were everywhere : under my pillow, under my feet, in the sink, all around the floors and creeping under the door and through torn window grills... and that in the dark (no electricity at night).
